Social Small Groups

“Day after day, in the temple courts and from house to house they never stopped teaching and proclaiming the Good News that Jesus is the Christ.”

Acts 5:42

One of the central ways we grow as disciples of Jesus is by having intentional relationships with people who share the same goal. In our small groups people gather regularly to break bread, study scripture, fellowship and pray as a means of pursuing spiritual growth and healthy relationships together.

Chick Flicks (Women’s Fellowship)

Chick Flicks is an opportunity for women to gather around a timely/current film that helps expose some of the realities which impact people’s lives. Meeting the first Sunday of every month in the home of either Marcie Hoyt or Jan Broadbent, women of all ages are encouraged to take part.

Men’s Group (Men’s Fellowship)

The Big Red Men’s group is a monthly gathering for men of all ages to come together to explore matters of faith, personal journeys, and service to the church and community with the assurance that what is shared is honored through respect for the privacy upon which honest talk depends. They meet the third Saturday of each month with coffee, tea, and sweet rolls to satisfy any lingering hungers of the body.

Another Voice (LGBT & Allies Bible Group)

Meets on select Friday’s during the month, with a particular focus on how scripture is relevant to those of the LGBTQ community, and how good biblical scholarship can offset ways in which scripture has sometimes been used to diminish or demean. These are social opportunities with an invitation to join the potluck.

Living Through Transitions

Living Through Transitions is a spiritual and personal exploration of ways to navigate the often turbulent world of change we undergo. Divorce, death, loss of job, processes of aging are but some of the realities we all face. LTT is intended as a facilitated discussion and support for those in need of thoughtful, reflective, and prayerful paths to follow.

Caring Communities

Caring Communities is designed to identify support for those of our congregation during times of crisis or transition. Organized by geographic distribution into four zones, Caring Communities can respond in a variety of ways: providing food during an illness, death, or home rehabilitation; transportation to medical appointments; home visits; assistance with pets during a hospitalization. Caring Communities is part of our Faith Development umbrella.
